What A Body!!!
Paul was talking about how the Corinthian Church was having trouble with the people thinking they were better than others in the church and there were many divisions. Paul wanted them to understand that everybody in the church was needed. Just as we need the different parts of our bodies.
As a piano player and teacher I could see that it was important to have both hands to play, eyes to read music, ears to hear the music, feet to play the pedal and keep time. Now, you can adapt if for some reason you are missing one of these pieces, but to have complete harmony coming through you need all of these parts.
Paul was looking for harmony within the church and was saying that whatever you can do to help each other, do it. Be an important part of the body to further the efforts of the church to spread the gospel.
Can you pray? Can you Sing? Teach? Witness? Everyone can do something.
Or maybe you aren't a part of the church yet. God wants you to be. He's looking for you to believe in Him and accept the sacrifice that He made just for you. He made a promise that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. (Romans 10:9-10)
God always keeps His promises. Trust Him today, then find a good church to be a part of the body.
I hope you will!! Have a great July!
