I am so thankful for my family, my friends, and my church. I am thankful to live in the US. I am thankful for health and strength given in time of need. I am thankful for a new job. I am thankful for the MS...WHAT?!
Yes, before the diagnosis I was stagnant, indifferent, still a Christian but lacking in compassion, enthusiasm for the ministries I was in, and all but ignored God. So why give thanks for something so scary and debilitating?
Because God said to! He knows what we need and we need Him first and foremost. Then because He loves us so much His thoughts and actions are toward our spiritual growth. After that we start to trust Him for all the things in our lives and He supplies everything we need.
It wasn't until I said "Thank You, Lord" that I began to understand some of what He was doing in my life, and appreciate it. It was then that my recovery (emotional & physical) really started. So many blessings I can't even begin to name them all. Maybe that's why we're supposed to count our blessings everyday, so we can keep up! :) I don't know what the future holds but God does and I trust Him with whatever happens. Is there something you can be thankful for today? Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone!
