Statement of Faith
We Believe:

  • God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) , and God the Holy Spirit are three persons and One God. Ps. 90:2; Malachi 3:6; Hebrews 13:8; Deuteronomy 6:4; John 4:24; John 16:17-15
  • The Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the only divine revelation men will ever have, except in the persons of the Godhead, and is inspired by the Holy Spirit.  II Timothy 3:16; 1 Peter 1:12
  • Jesus is God and is the Son of God.  He was born of a virgin through the Holy Spirit, was crucified to pay the debt for our sin, arose from the dead the third day, and is now in Heaven where He intercedes for all who believe.  He will come again to gather His believers, then He will come again after the tribulation to set up His kingdom on earth where He will judge both the living and the dead.  Colossians 1:12-19; Phillipians 2:5-11; Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:35; I Peter 2:24,25; I John 2:2; Romans 3:24-26; Luke 24; Matthew 24; Matthew 25; Revelation 11:15,16; Revelation 20:10-15
  • Man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin.  Now all of mankind is lost and except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.  Salvation is by grace through faith in the shed blood of Christ.  The retribution for the unbelieving and the reward for the saved are both everlasting.  Genesis 1:26,27; Romans 3:10,23; John 3:3; Acts 13:38,39; Acts 4:12; Colossians 1:14; Phillipians 3:20,21; I John 3:2; Ephesians 2:4-7

  • The Church is an elect body of believers who are baptized into one body by the Holy Spirit.  Our mission is to be a witness for the Lord Jesus Christ and preach the Gospel to all nations.  Each believer has two natures - a sinful, human nature and a divine nature. The Holy Spirit indwells the believer forever.  Matthew 16:17, 18; Acts 2:41-47; Acts 15:13-18; Ephesians 1:3-6; I Peter 1:1,2; Romans 8:28-34; I Corinthians 12:12,13; I Corinthians 13:14; Galations 5:16-25; Ephesians 4:22-32; Colossians 3:1-10; I Peter 1:14-16; I Peter 3:5-12; John 14:16,17; I John 1:5-10; II Corinthians 12:12; Ephesians 4:7-16; I Corinthians 14:1-3; I Corinthians 13:8,11; II Corinthians 12:7-10; Phillipians 2:25-30
  • Local churches are ordained of God to preach the Word in the power of the Holy Spirit for the building up for the saved and the evangelizing of the lost. It is independent and self-governing responsible alone to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Galations 1:2; Revelation 2:3; II Timothy 4:1-5; Matthew 18-20; Acts 8:35-39; Acts 16:23-33; I Corinthians 1:10-18
  • The first day of the week, the Lord's Day, is especially set apart for the believers to assemble regularly for worship, prayer, fellowship, the preaching of the Word, and to give our tithes and offerings for God's work.
  • The broken bread and the fruit of the vine on the Lord's table speak of His broken body and blood shed on the Cross for us; as believers, we should judge ourselves, confess and forsake our sins, and yield our lives in obedience to God before we partake at the Lord's Table.

Our History

Liberty Baptist Church was started in 1976 by Pastor Dan Spicer.  The church met in the home of one of the members until the meetings were moved to the Hersey School Gymnasium.  The membership at that time was 20 people.  In 1979 Pastor Ronald Lucas became pastor and the property at the current location was purchased.  Pastor Lucas remained until 1996 when he was called to another work.  He was replaced by Pastor David Stanski, who continued the work until 2011.  Pastor Trevor Guiles is now our new Pastor.
